Hey Everybody! Thanks for all the people that have made it out to our first meeting, especially the new guys. Its looking to be a really great group of people, further proving my suspicion that this is going to be the best year yet for SOMA. The next general meeting will be Wednesday, September 5th at 7:30 in room 219 of Thomas. In fact, our meetings are every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:30 in room 219 Thomas.

As a reminder, we’ll be holding elections for the following positions at the Sept 5th meeting:

• Arts Crawl Chair
• Open Mic Chair
• Synthesis Chair (Music/Video Festival Chair)

And don’t forget that everyone is more than welcome to attend our weekly officer meetings which are Mondays at 6:30 in our office (Room 305 in the HUB). Thanks for staying classy.

Welcome to the new Web 2.0 version of the SOMA site. Now the website can move as fast as our lovely club. Also, some places now have the option of adding comments like a blog, so feel free to rant and rave anywhere you get the chance. SOMA is by you and for you, have fun

Also, we couldn’t be having a cooler, more optimistic start to the year. We got a grant from UPAC to do a big show this semester, the School of Visual Arts expects us to continue our annual Arts Crawl with their funding, and we still have a few of our incredible CD Compilations and T-shirts in. Theres plenty of fun things to be organized, and I think some people are already working on a LazerTag Social!

Come talk us at the club fair on the first day of Classes if you’re new. And if you’re already a member come and hang out! We’ll be in Alumni Hall between 11am and 4pm.

And if you check out the Events Calendar, you’ll notice that our first meeting is Wednesday, August 29th in room 219 in Thomas at 7:30. Have fun checking out the site, and we’ll see you sometime soon
